Administrative and Public Law
Our Administrative Law partners and associates handle a vast array of government and administrative law related issues, from permits and government contracting to the filing of bids in public tenders. Uruguay recently approved new regulation for the concession of public works and services, under the so-called “Public-Private Participation Law”, an instrument under which ambitious infrastructure and public works projects will be undertaken in coming years. Our professionals have participated in the structuring and financing of the first large scale project under the new PPP, and in an advisory role in the largest one to date.
Our experience allows us to bring invaluable expertise to foreign clients when preparing bids to submit in tenders and negotiating contracts with regulatory agencies and different government entities. Our multi-disciplinary approach, and our knowledge of BOT structures and Project Finance ensures that we bring all the necessary skills to the table, working hand-in-hand with the client’s technical teams.
The firm’s Administrative practice also includes the filing of national and municipal permits for real estate and industrial developments, requesting environmental licenses, contesting administrative decisions and litigating in administrative forums.
